What is the Regional Leadership Conference?

The Regional Leadership Conference is organized in conjunction with the North East Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (NEACURH). NEACURH, and an affiliate of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH) has two regional conferences every year consisting of RHA and NRHH chapters across the North East. At these conferences, students gather to support each other in accomplishing their goals. Advocacy, Leadership, Service, Recognition are just a few of the topics that students can discuss while sharing in their regional Spirit.

What is this application for?

The Syracuse University Residence Hall Association is bidding to host RLC 2019. If we are to win this bid, our RHA will be responsible for putting together and running the Regional Conference in November 2019. In order to accomplish this, we are hoping to put together a talented and dedicated team of students to help run the show. For more information please contact Griffin Timm @getimm.syr.edu

What Positions are available?

Below is a list of the Different Positions available to apply for along with a short description of what the position entails.

  • Finance

    • The Finance Chair is responsible for maintaining the finances for the conference. Your job will be to make the conference as cost effective as possible as well as ensuring that we have the resources to make the conference an amazing experience for everyone.

  • Registration and Sponsorship

    • The Registration and Sponsorship Chair is responsible for ensuring that schools are registered for the conference. You will also be responsible for reaching out to local companies as a way to secure sponsorships that will help make the conference more memorable for all attendees.

  • Housing and Transportation

    • The Housing and Transporation Chair is responsible for ensuring that the conference delegates have a clear path to arrive on campus as well as a comfortable place to sleep while here.

  • Hospitality

    • The Hospitality chair is responsible for ensuring that everyone’s stay is as comfortable as possible! Your job is to make sure that everyone leaves Syracuse feeling like they are a part of our Orange Family!

  • Programming

    • The Programming Chair is responsible for recruiting and choosing who will be presenting at our conference. As well as deciding who will be presenting at the conference you will be helping to decide when and where they will be presenting.

  • Sustainability and Inclusion

    • The Sustainability and Inclusion Chair is responsible for ensuring that we are creating an inclusive space for everyone! We want everyone to feel welcome while on our campus. Along with this, you will be working to ensure that our conference is not creating any unnecessary waste!

  • Facilities and Technology

    • The Facilities and Technology Chair is responsible for ensuring that our campus is ready for our guests! Your role is to ensure that all spaces are accessible and prepared throughout the weekend.

  • Volunteer

    • The Volunteer Chair is responsible for recruiting and organizing the volunteers necessary for the conference.

  • Entertainment

    • The Entertainment Chair is responsible for creating entertaining and unique ways for our guests to enjoy themselves while they are not in sessions throughout the weekend. You will be organizing different socials for people to mingle, as well as ways for people to enjoy themselves in a way that is unique to our campus.

  • Spirit

    • The Spirit Chair is responsible for providing opportunities for our guests to show off their school, and regional pride. You will be working to find ways for people to earn spirit points before and during the conference.

  • Philanthropy

    • The Philanthropy Chair is responsible for working with our chosen philanthropy. All schools in attendance have the opportunity to participate in the philanthropy tied to our conference.

  • Social Media

    • The Social Media Chair is responsible for working to market our conference to the region and university. Helping recruit volunteers, and ensure that delegates are excited to be here is your job!
